Gang Ning

Dr. Gang Ning, President of Jingdezhen Ceramics Institute. He is a member of the 13th National People's Congress, deputy director of the Teaching Steering Committee in Design at the Ministry of Education, member of the Specialist committee for the Chinese Arts and Crafts Masters Program. Vice Chairman of JiangXi Artist Association, holding a title of the grandmaster of China Ceramic Art. Dr. Ning obtained the Ph.D in Literature from Wuhan University of Technology and Honorary Doctor of Philosophy from Korea Wonkwang University.

He is an expert in using high temperature colour glaze technique. developing a completely new style of ceramic decoration. By combining the techniques of high temperature color glaze with the glaze painting, he presents the traditional auspicious themes of lotus, crane and other oriental themes in his creations. In 2013, His two pieces was presented as birthday gifts to Her Majesty the Queen, The works were decorated with images of crane, wheat and lotus, representing the kind of auspicious harmony year after year.
