Zhang Zhaoda was born on September 19, 1963 in Houshan village, Zhongshan City of Guangdong province. He is a Buddhist and also a worshipper of Confucianism and Taoism.  He learned martial arts from his grandfather Zhang Jinguang in his childhood and painting from his elder uncle Zhang Guoxiong. Later he learned calligraphy and ink painting from Mr. Huang Xiachuan and then oil painting from Tan Xuesheng and Xu Jianbai. He’s also one of the best students of Mr. Ding Shaoguang. Then, he learned design from Mr. Malcan Htarr, Mr. Alyce, Mr Herl Bert and Mr Tomas Wang. After that, he learned sculpture from Mr. Tony, philosophy from Master Li Silong, Art of Religion from Mr. Wang Zhiyuan and Art History and Appreciation from Mr. Xue Yongnian.
